We’re dedicated to raising awareness and support for the continuing journey to find treatment for cancer in children. Drawing attention to childhood cancer became a passionate cause since our beloved daughter Sydni Brown’s struggle with Rhabdomyosarcoma. She passed in September of 2020, leaving a hole in our hearts which will never be filled. But we hope that we can change the outcome for other children who have cancer. How You Can Help In the Fight Against Childhood Cancer
As the leading cause of death by diseases for children in the U.S., it’s crucial that we raise awareness for this dangerous and deadly disease. With childhood cancer rates increasing by 24% in the last 40 years, increased awareness is needed now more than ever. 47 children are diagnosed with cancer every day in the U.S., and one child will be diagnosed with cancer every 3 minutes worldwide. Still yet, only 4% of all government funding for cancer research goes toward childhood cancer research. That is simply not enough. The FDA has only approved 4 new drugs in the past 20 years that are specifically for childhood cancer. More can be done for these kids with more action taken on their behalf and with increased funding. Action always begins with awareness.
